I picked up a few things recently on a visit to the Beauty Outlet near me. It is a store which sells make-up at a discounted price ( a bit like a beauty TK Maxx!) It mainly sells W7 Products, but if you’re lucky and you keep your eyes peeled, you can pick up some great products from some great brands. My steals this time were mostly from Stila!
Stila ‘set and illuminate baked powder trio’ – £5.99 (RRP £24.00)
I literally took this from the lady’s hands as she was putting it on the shelves…I couldn’t believe how cheap it was!
It is a very light, illuminating loose powder with three different shades (pale link to warm the complexion, champagne to highlight and kitten to illuminate. The product also has the added bonus of including ingredients which are good to your skin (jojoba oil and Vitamin E). Stila says that you can either wear this alone or applied over foundation (I will use it this way!) It feels extremely light on the skin and has a very luxurious feel…I can’t wait to try it properly in the morning!
(The middle photo below shows the finish of it when applied to my hand)
Stila ‘Perfecting Concealer” in Shade A ( very light) and J (very dark) – £5.99 each (RRP £15.00)
Although this can be used as a full coverage concealer, I bought two shades (one much lighter than my skin tone and one much darker) and I plan to use them to create a ‘liquid contour’. It is a quite thick concealer, so I think that using it as a contour with a great mattifying powder will create an amazing finish (of course, I will video it!)
Laval Lip Liner Pencil in ‘Brick’ and ‘Plum Wine’ – £1.49 each
I have had lip liners from this brand before and they are amazing…extremely pigmented and extremely cheap! They have a great range of colours and I thought these two which I purchased were great for this time of year. I will probably fill my lips in with these and then just gloss over them with a clear gloss or a similar lip colour. They are so pigmented they can definitely be used on their own!
Miss Sporty Kohl Kajal Eye Pencil in ‘Ocean’ – £0.99
This is nothing special but it is a great blue colour which I plan to use for a different make-up look. My make-up collection is growing at a crazy pace, but I don’t own any sort of coloured eye pencils or many bright shadows as I usually stick to more muted shades when doing my own make-up (browns, golds, greys etc). But for the purpose of some variety in my make-up tutorials, I wanted to purchase a bright liner! This was so inexpensive that if I do like it, I will definitely be going back to repurchase more shades.
Amazing shine eyelashes ‘747-s’ – £2.49 (RRP £3.99)
Not much to say here apart from the fact that I love how ‘fluttery’ these eyelashes are. They are not too big so I shouldn’t have to cut them to size and I always use a separate adhesive so it doesn’t phase me that they don’t include any in the product!
& that’s it! I probably shouldn’t be purchasing anything beauty related this close to Christmas…but I just couldn’t help myself!
