I picked up a few goods on a quick trip to Superdrug recently! I don’t think I have ever willingly entered Superdrug and left without picking something up. It’s like all the affordable make-up lit up under bright lights just draws you in! There is always some sort of offer on each brand (although I always seem to come out spending on everything but the products on offer!) I wanted to share with you what I picked up and my first impressions of them!
So here they are in all their glory….
1. Rimmel London Match Perfection Silky Loose Face Powder (001) – £6.99
The fact that I am disappointed with this product is completely my fault. I ventured into Superdrug with the intention of finding a ‘white’ powder to set my highlight. As you know if you already read my blog, I am a big big fan of contouring and highlighting, and I just felt like my current powders are either too dark or too translucent to do the trick. For some reason, to try and rectify this, I picked up a loose face powder which is also translucent (doh!). It is a great setting powder, but just not what I was looking for!
2.MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter ‘Iridescent Gold’ – £3.00
I am in love with this highlighter already! It has a gold undertone to it, and gives the most amazing pay off. The only downside is that the formula isn’t as finely milled as I would like, so sometimes if your not careful, you can be left with chunks of glitter! But blending it out well enough can reduce this. Easy to apply and so so affordable. I think you will see this in many tutorials and looks to come!
3. Makeup Revolution Ultra Sculpt & Contour Kit (Ultra Fair) – £3.50
Another absolute hit. I have heard so much about this palette, so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. Shamefully, I don’t own a lot of lower end bronzers, blushers or highlighters. I don’t know why, but when I feel like ‘treating’ myself to a higher end product, it is usually a bronzer or base product that I reach for. But this palette has really really impressed me! The bronzer is completely matte, so perfect for contouring. The highlighter is absolutely beautiful & a lot more finely milled than the MUA one above, and the blusher leaves a subtle glow on my cheeks (& if you know me, you will know by now I am not usually a fan of blush!) I am so glad I picked this up, and I already know I am going to use it as much as my Seventeen Define & Conquer contour kit (one of the few drugstore contour kits I love).
4. Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette Mermaids vs Unicorns – £4.00
This is definitely the most unique and colourful palette I own! The reason I picked this palette up in the first place was because I didn’t own many bright colours that I could experiment with in different makeup looks…and this has definitely helped with that! You can always count on Makeup Revolution’s eyeshadows to be really pigmented and last ages, and these definitely don’t disappoint. I can’t wait to play around with them!
So that’s it!
I hope you enjoyed this haul! Thanks for reading!
