EVERYONE LOVES A HAUL, RIGHT?!
So I picked up a small handful of items in Boots today. I couldn’t wait to try them…which meant that I had to do a haul first and not ruin all the brand new packaging!
SLEEK MAKEUP – CONTOUR KIT (MEDIUM) – £10.99
I don’t care if contour is on its way out…I don’t think I will ever be tired of the trend! If you have watched my previous make-up videos, you will know I am a fan of the cream contour and highlight method. After applying foundation and before setting it with powder, I like to ‘sculpt’ my face using darker and lighter concealers. When I saw this contour kit which has both the light and dark creams in, I couldn’t resist it. They had three different shades, but I opted for Medium. The only annoying factor of this palette was that I wanted the lightest highlighter (which was obviously in the lightest contour kit) and I wanted the darkest contour (which was in the darkest palette). The medium kit which I bought will still be OK for me, but I doubt it’ll give me a very dramatic look. I plan to use it in a tutorial tomorrow, so we will soon find out!
SLEEK MAKEUP ‘MATTE ME’ ULTRA SMOOTH MATTE LIP CREAM – £4.99
I picked up two of these lip creams and they are by far my favourite purhases! I picked up the shades ‘birthday suit’ (lightest) and ‘velvet slipper’ (darkest). I am yet to try Velvet Slipper as again I want to try it in a look tomorrow, but the consistency is amazing and the formula is very pigmented. Once applied, it turns from a glossy finish to a matte finish and dries pretty quickly. I applied two coats of Birthday suit (apply one coat, let it dry and them apply a second) and it literally didn’t move! The only let down of it is they are pretty drying, but I wouldn’t expect much less from a ‘matte’ lip cream. Once I have tried them properly in a look I will update this post with a little paragraph below!
BARRY M STROBE CREAM- £4.49
When I saw this I loved the idea of owning a cream highlighter which wasn’t just a white shade and left more of an iridescent glow. Sometimes with liquid highlighters such as Benefit’s High Beam, I find the consistency hard to work with and end up applying too much. I liked the idea of a cream stick which made it easier to control when being applied. I love the finish this gave on my hand, so I cannot wait to try it on my face! I also think it is going to be amazing with just a tinted moisturiser and a tan in the summer.
So that’s it!
Short and sweet but I hope you enjoyed!
