MAKEUP TUTORIAL: THE ‘HALO’ TECHNIQUE

HALO EYES & RED LIP
collage1.jpg

HI GUYS! SO TODAY I AM GOING TO SHOW YOU HOW I ACHIEVED THIS MAKEUP LOOK. THE TECHNIQUE I USED HERE FOR THE EYES IS CALLED THE ‘HALO’ TECHNIQUE, WHICH BASICALLY MEANS USING DARKER COLOURS IN BOTH THE INNER & OUTER CORNERS OF YOUR EYELIDS, AND HIGHLIGHTING THE MIDDLE SECTION WITH A LIGHTER COLOUR.

IN MY OPINION, IT IS THE EASIEST WAY TO CREATE A SMOKED OUT LOOK WITHOUT THE HASSLE OF BUILDING FROM COLOUR TO COLOUR. I TEAMED THIS WITH AN OMBRE RED LIP, BUT IT CAN ALSO BE WORN WITH A NEUTRAL LIP IF YOU DON’T WANT IT TO LOOK TOO DRAMATIC…THIS IS IT BEFORE I ADDED THE RED LIP:

SO here is the video! All products are also listed below:

EYES
MAC Mineralize Skin Finish (Dark) For my crease
MAC Eyeshadow (Brun) For the inner and outer corners (to create the ‘halo’ effect)
Nyx Eyesahdow ‘Frostbite’ to brighten the inner part of my eyelid
MAC Eyeshadow ‘Sun Tweaked’ to soften the Nyx’s eyeshadow (this on its own wasn’t bright enough for me)
Lancome Kohl Eyeliner (Noir)
Benefit’s Roller Lash Macara
MAC’s Eyeshadow (Nylon) for my highlight – my absolute favourite
MAC’s Loose Pigment (Silver glitter – unsure of the name!) for the middle of my eye
Makeup Gallery’s Pro Liquid Liner (as always!)
