Welcome back to my blog! Today I have a full review for you on:
NYX TAME&FRAME TINTED BROW POMADE – £5.50
WHAT IT CLAIMS TO BE:
Boots boasts the following about this product: Give extra life to your brows with our easy-to-use brow pomade that glides onto skin and hair. Our smudge-proof waterproof formula comes in five shades to coax brows into prime shape. Stand up to humidity in style!
Now let’s just take a minute to think about that…they are basically saying that a product priced at £5.50 will not smudge, is waterproof and is easy to use….really?! Well that’s what I thought when I first purchased it. I picked it up on the NYX stand in my local Boots. There was nothing wrong with my previous current brow routine, but I had never tried a brow pomade before and I really wanted to see what all the fuss was about.
I believe that there are five shades to choose from; Brunette, Espresso, Blonde, Black and Chocolate. I went for Espresso, which was the darkest other than Black, just because I prefer my eyebrows darker. What I would say is make sure that you utilize any testers available first. The packaging has a model on the front, and the image shows the colour pay off to be a lot lighter than it actually is. I don’t mind, because like I said, I prefer a darker brow, but it may be something to consider if you want a shade close to your brow colour when purchasing.
The colour pigment and pay off itself is outstanding…& I don’t say that lightly! The colour that you see in the actual pot is the colour that you receive on your skin and hairs…something that I find few and far between when using brow powders or pencils.
Like I said, I had never tried a brow pomade before, so I really wasn’t sure whether it would be for me. BUT I am SO excited, because I really feel that I have finally found the absolute perfect brow method for me. The pomade is a perfect mix between the colour pay off you receive from a brow tint or mascara and the control you have when using a powder. The formula is perfect and literally glides on, setting your brow hairs at the same time as well as giving you the pigment and definition you want. I used the pomade with a very thin eyeliner brush to make sure I had control when applying.
When I am in work especially, I tend to touch my skin a lot. I usually find that by the time I go to the toilet, my brow is half rubbed off or worse…smudged halfway up my face. This didn’t budge all day. In fact, I wanted to take it off to redo for this blog post, and even trying to remove it off my brows willingly was a bit of a struggle!
TO WRAP IT UP…
Absolutely by far the BEST eyebrow product I have ever tried. I don’t know whether it is because it is the first brow pomade I have experienced or it is the actual product itself, but whatever it is I absolutely love it. I am so tempted to buy a few more from different brands to compare and contrast…so watch this space!
